To welcome the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games and popularize Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Wrestling, the Association, together with the China Hong Kong Wrestling Council, will hold a large-scale public promotion event “MMA & Wrestling welcome the Asian Games 2026” at Wan Chai Harbourfront on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
The event aims to let the public understand the technical features and sports value of MMA and Wrestling from multiple angles through theoretical explanations, practical experiences, and interactive sessions. Besides professional technique demonstrations, there will be a reaction-testing “Catch the Stick Challenge Game”, a themed souvenir sales area, and a graphic exhibition area, enhancing participants’ responsiveness and interest in sports in a fun and engaging way. We especially encourage young people to participate actively, building confidence, exercising their bodies, learning self-defense skills, and appreciating the discipline and strategic thinking inherent in combat sports.
Notably, both MMA and Wrestling have been officially included in the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games program, where they will make their grand debut on the Asian Games stage.
Professional coaches and athletes will demonstrate and explain MMA and wrestling techniques on stage, which the audience can freely watch. There will also be hands-on experience sessions; interested individuals simply need to register basic details to try basic moves and techniques under coach guidance. Entry is unlimited, open to all genders and ages, especially welcoming youth participation.
The Association hopes this event will break stereotypes about MMA and Wrestling, showcase their athletic, technical, and educational value, promote them as potential emerging sports in Hong Kong, and lay a broader mass foundation for future Asian Games events.
